In the most recent “EXTREME Preaching” occasion, we covered two subjects: (1) in Genesis 1, the first humans were given a diet of vegetables. After the Flood, however, in Genesis 9, their diet now includes animals. What can we infer from this? (2) What should be the role of women in the church? Pastor Luke teaches from 1 Timothy 2: 8–15 in “EXTREME Preaching.”

In the most recent “EXTREME Preaching” occasion, we covered three subjects:

  1. if Jesus was angry when he drove the moneychangers from the temple, when can we be angry in the face of wrongdoing today?
  2. is sharing “Fake News” a type of false witness, and if so, how should Christians engage social media? and
  3. what does the image of the ‘Peaceable Kingdom’ inaugurated by Jesus teach about Christians and animal welfare?

Pastor Luke preaches from Matthew 21:12–14, Deuteronomy 5:20; and Isaiah 11:6–9 in “EXTREME Preaching.”

We had time for three mini-sermons in our occasional series of “EXTREME Preaching”. We talked about forgiveness for very bad sins; why Christians, who are free from the law, ought not act lawlessly; and the way that much of the sin we do is systemic sin common to the world. Listen to “EXTREME Preaching.”

Scripture readings mentioned in this episode: John 21:1-19 and 1 Timothy 1:12-17; Galatians 5:16-25; John 15:18-21.

We had time for two mini-sermons in our occasional series of “extreme preaching”. The first was on the divisions between (and within) Christian traditions. The second was a summary of the time when Israel was ruled by Judges. Pastor Luke looks at Judges 2:11–22 in “Extreme Preaching.”

We had time for two mini-sermons in our occasional series of “extreme preaching”. The first was on one of the petitions of the Lord’s Prayer, and the other was on the statement in Genesis that the man and the woman were “naked and unafraid.” Pastor Luke looks at Genesis 2 and Matthew 6 in “Extreme Preaching.”
